Better yet, FedEx it to me post-haste. I'm starving (in the hedgerows).

PS:
What's all this innuendo about Ariel getting hitched?
If true, why the frell am I the only one who didn't get a wedding invite?
(I can assure you that rumours of my habitually taking advantage of maids of honour at these kinds of shindigs are completely unfounded and any claims to the contrary may result in my lawyers taking swift and decisive legal action against the source of said claims.)

Thank you, don't mind if I do.

Wasn't mamedia supposed to post (hey, that has a nice ring to it) vol. 1 in this section?

Also greatly looking forward to Aggelos's (no doubt derived from the verb 'to Aggelose' and the polar opposite of Aggegains) fully restored Magna Carta rip.

Yes and yes! The long awaited Volume 1 is finally in my possession and will be uploaded soon.

Thanks for Volume 4, Sofia. Does anyone have Volume 5?

SOFIA said...

@mamedia
Great! Now about Vol. 5. There's on emusic (where I've purchased Vol. 4) but unfortunately this volume is not available for Greece. I don't know why. So if you or anyone else wishes to buy it I'm sure you can download it from there.

You don't know Planet P Project??? You mean to tell me you don't remember their 80's track "Why me" which was a huge hit in Greece and not only here? I've always loved that song and have danced to it a million times!

Anonymous said...

Ahh...sorry about the P Project..never heard of it.
Maybe the reason is that I dislike dancing...lol
and Magna is improved by me but I'm waiting for Camel's version if he decides to do it...lol

@Aggelos

The Planet P Project song you mentioned is from the excellent "Pink World" concept album (CD) from the great Tony Carey. Check it out. If you can't find it, I can rip my CD and send it. Many have compared this album to "The Wall." I won't go that far, but it is a great concept album.

@Sofia
Thanks again for HIOTR Vol. 4.

joecool said...

I'm with Sofia about Planet P- have been a big fan of them AND Tony Carey for quite some time.
However, I'm with the guys about the dancin' -- not a fan(do some 'silly' dancing with the granddaughter on occasion)
What I See is of course from the Pink World release (a concept-oriented double disc release).
Has anyone been able to buy volume 5 from eMusic?? I might have to renew my membership to grab that one.

Anonymous said...

@ all

Thanks for the HIOTR compilations ! Great stuff ! :-) Has the Vol. 2 already been uploaded ? I couldn't find it in the archives. Just wondering ........

I am looking for:

Crowcuss - Crowcuss (??)
Crowcuss - Starting to show (1979)

Apparently a "2 on 1" CD reissue was released in 2008 on a label called Super Oldies. Anyone have this one by any chance ??

Thanks & cheers !

@ Swazi

I found volume 2 in flac..and now I have to convert.Anyone having it in mp3 ?

troynew said...

@mamedia:

"Many have compared this album to "The Wall.""

Me thinks many are crazy.
Sounds a bit like comparing a pre-fame Spice Girls Manchester pub gig (as if they ever had to go through that phase) with Whitesnake's 'Live... In The Heart Of The City'.
Still, I'd love to hear a concept album that can inspire such allegedly widespread misguided praise, so kindly upload 'Pink World' for us.
(Don't forget to include the complementary tropical cocktails with those little umbrellas.
No pink world could do without them.)

Oh, and mucho thanks for HIOTR Vol. 1.

@Swazi/Aggelos:

I've got Vol. 2 sitting pretty in one of my Camelblue folders, so yes, apparently it has been posted here before.

As for Pink World, I will rip it and send it, but unfortunately it is too expensive to ship the pink cocktails from the States. :-)

@Camelblue:

I do have the Visionary CD yes, but I haven't come across it in a long time because it's 'stored' in a cardboard box somewhere near the bottom of a pile of other boxes containing CDs in the back of a closet, with loads of DVD box sets balancing precariously on top of them, and I lack the ambition, the energy, the mental fortitude and the sex drive (?) to go on a spelunking expedition in order to excavate the item in question.
So you go ahead and upload it, or daz-a-cid's patience most likely would be tested beyond the limits of human endurance.

PS:
And bridesmaids too if they're above legal age, but that goes without saying.

I subscribe to the consensus here that 'Born To Be A Rebel' is way too good to deserve being left off any of their studio output (including it on 'The Early Years' would have been the obvious choice).
Speaking of which, someone kindly post 'Higher' and 'Human Nature' (with or without Japanese bonus tracks) cause both seem to be conspicuously absent from both my sorry excuse for a collection and my computer-shaped paperweight and yet seem to rank among their best.

Hey about the Dynazty 'weird' situation: A user (who has both cds) told me a while ago that the release with these two bonus tracks is a complete different sound recording with different guitars,differents endings of songs...etc.
Unfortunately, I asked if he could send the 2nd version but haven't heard from him since!
It will reach the surface someday...lol
Now back to things that some might find interesting about Harem Scarem.

@Aggelos:

Appreciate the Harem Scarem req fill.
Looks like you've gone above and beyond the call of duty once more by posting lots of other stuff besides.
Although technically speaking this qualifies as overachieving, I'd be glad to take them off your hands if only my computer's external hard disk had the room to spare.
I have to pick and choose my battles (read: downloads) these days. :o(

troynew said...

PS:
Yes, I'd be interested in any Cross albums you might feel like sharing.
I bought a prog CD about a decade ago by a band I seem to recall was named Cross, with a colourful Borg-like cube on the front cover. It had a crystal clear production, stunning guitars and keyboards, but the lead vocals were absolutely horrible. (The kind of album that should have been an instruments-only release.)
Could have been an entirely different band though. Its 'singer' had a thick European accent... maybe Swiss or German.
I ditched the CD because I couldn't bear to listen to the guy - or more accurately, listen to the guy screw up what could have been a highlight in the genre.

troynew said...

I haven't gotten around to listening to anything lately.
It's been all work and no play for me all month, making me a dull boy by Jack Nicholson't definition.

Edit:
Just had a quick browse of 'Uncovered Heart'. Sounds plenty good to these ears, no subpar vocals anywhere in sight, so lay it on me... (meaning any other of their albums you can spare). Thanks in advance.

'This Is My Life' was also previously released as a single in their homeland. This song was last year's EuroVision winner (In Sweden), and Dynasty's version is really, really good, done in the best Skid Row power ballad tradition, with wide open vocals and extremely melodic guitars.

Hi there! Just got a shock when I heard that Fergie Frederiksen has been diagnosed with cancer last year ... he is one of my favourites! Met him quite some time ago backstage and had a chat with him, such a nice bloke. Then I read about a band he had with Ricky Philips - "Abandon Shame" - Anybody heard of them? Are there any records / demos available? Got some old Bad Endlish demos and the songs are just amazing.

Camelblue said...

@ andisito:
Yes, that's sad. There was a benefit concert last year featuring Alex Ligertwood, Jimi Jamison, Kevin Chalfant, Mike Reno and many more.
I don't know if "Abandon Shame" project has recorded some demos.

@Camelblue:

:o0 Wow, first time ever I've had a song dedicated to me!
I came close once before, but at the last minute Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias decided to go with all the girls they've loved before instead.

Sad news indeed about my all-time favorite vocal prodigy Fergie F.
Hope his doctors are more competent than my father's were three years ago and he makes a full recovery.

@Aggelos:

What Greek would ever own an obscure Swedish prog band's full discography?
You're a freak of nature, my man, but in a good way.
(Unless the reason for your being able to build such an all-encompassing collection is you're one of those civil servants skimming off the top who have landed your country in such dire straits financially.)

Regardless, thanks for making it available to us mere mortals.

Could you recommend a few maybe? I don't have the disk space for all of them.

PS: 'Dream Reality' is the one I was talking about when I mentioned that album I used to own with the lousy singer but great guitars and keyboards. My 'Borg cube' cover clue should have given it away.

troynew said...

@Sofia:

I meant anywhere online except for online radio (pretending for a moment I hadn't forgotten all about your brief stint as a melodic rock DJ).

I had the Javan CD shortly after its release by the way, but ditched it for being 'too German sounding'.
I guess our (totally unnecessary) second round elimation at the 1990 World Cup in Italy was still too fresh in my mind.
I might be able to tolerate it now though, so I think I'll grab it at the risk of opening old wounds.

troynew said...

I didn't expect that someone would ask it here...but I also posted the albums in my forum and received many messages...Not sure if the albums are out of print though...There was one time that I was 'stuck' with prog Rock and collected many albums.
I would recommend:

Visionary Fools

Well, don't feel bad. Even I have forgotten all about it, why shouldn't you? The only genuine things about those "radio" days were my dedications to you guys and my love for this music and this is what I wouldn't want me or you to forget, cause it was all from the heart! ;)

andisito said...

@ camelblue: Thanks a lot for the youtube link (Le Roux - lifeline). This song indeed was one of the songs I grew up with. Love this one!

SOFIA:
Maybe the music of Pretty Maids is even protect...If you happen to have this song, you just delete mine and add yours.
If by chance it fails, I'll make you a new link. Cheeerrrzzzz.
(My original cd of Pretty Maids is protected, just now realized that protection. Sorry)

@DEEMON
All the commercial cds are protected (copyright) by default. When you copy them as wma to your pc-laptop you have a choice (if I recall correctly) to let them stay protected or not. I'm guessing you didn't notice that so the track remained protected. Anyway, it's no big deal. I'm telling you this only for you to be aware next time you copy files. Now, if you want my opinion, better stick with mp3. It's a much better format.
Thanks again for everything. Cheers!

About Cross...Don't know if you got a few albums by chance but the lead singer in all albums is : Hansi Cross.
Haha...
If U have time check their albums review here.. http://www.progarchives.com (try the search button with artist & album) in case it helps.
Other way is to hit the download button...listen to it...and than whether U keep it or U beat the crap outta me ...lol

4Shared.com is ridiculous.
When you've grabbed something within the last hour, the next time you have to wait 262 seconds before a download link appears, and for a third download 390 seconds! :o(
I can grow a beard your average ZZ Top member would be proud of in less time than that.
Reason enough never to use it for any uploads of mine.

@Troy
Hahaha! I know. I wanted to say the same thing to DEEMON but then I thought, what the heck, I'll try and be patient. My internet speed and other download providers are much worst than 4shared. So... patience guys!

Guys, I have a problem with DEEMON's Aor Dreamzone Collection. It stops downloading after 50%. Has anyone managed to get this and if yes can he/she upload it to another service? Multiupload would be great! Thanks.
